Hot for Memorial Day; Sunny, summer-like temperatures this week

Memorial Day will be warm and overall dry, with the return of 80-degree temperatures.

Today will be partially cloudy, with a slight chance for showers. While most areas will remain dry, the areas that do get showers may not even have measurable amounts, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

High temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s today. While it is slightly warmer than normal, it is typically for Memorial Day, according to the NWS.

Since 1894, the high temperature for the holiday has been in the 80s 44 times in Dayton and in the 70s 51 times. Highs have only exceeded 90 degrees nine times in Dayton.

Overnight, temperatures will drop into the low 60s.

Dry conditions will continue Tuesday with plenty of sunshine.

Highs will be a few degrees warming, with temperatures expected to reach 86 degrees. Overnight lows will be around 63 degrees.

Wednesday will be similar, with more sunshine and highs in the upper 80s. There is another slight chance for rain, but mostly south of Cincinnati

Temperatures will drop to the mid-60s overnight.
