Clear skies tonight; Air Quality Alert Friday in Butler, Warren counties

Clouds will gradually decrease today for mostly clear skies tonight.

The high temperature for today reached 88 degrees in Dayton, 85 in Cincinnati and 87 in Columbus, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The overnight low will fall to around 64 degrees.

Friday will be mostly sunny and hot with highs around 90 degrees.

An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Friday in Butler and Warren counties by the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency. The agency said that during that day it expects levels of ozone considered unhealthy for sensitive groups like children, elderly adults and people with respiratory and cardiac diseases.

Residents can help reduce ozone formation by limiting the use of gas-powered vehicles or lawn equipment and refueling cars after 8 p.m.

Friday night will be partly cloudy with an overnight low around 67 degrees.

The NWS predicted Saturday will be much like Friday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 90 degrees.

Saturday night will be mostly cloudy, with an overnight low around 69 degrees.

Sunday will be partly cloudy with a high near 91 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 9 p.m., after which showers are likely with possibly a thunderstorm.

Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 70 degrees.

It will be cooler at wet to start the new workweek.

Showers, with possibly a thunderstorm are expected before 9 a.m. Monday, then showers are likely through 3 p.m., with thunderstorms possible after 3 p.m.
