Partly sunny, warm today; Rounds of rain, thunderstorms possible

Today will be partly sunny and warm, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day into the evening and tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The NWS said that one or more rounds of storms are possible through the evening, some of which could be strong to severe. The main threat from storms would be strong to damaging winds, though some large hail and flooding are possible as well.

It will be partly cloudy overnight, with a chance of showers and storms before 11 p.m.

High temperatures will be around 85 degrees, and lows will be around 64 degrees.

Sunday may have widespread fog early in the morning before turning mostly sunny in the morning, though clouds will increase in the afternoon for mostly cloudy skies overnight.

Highs will again be in the upper 80s, at around 87 degrees, with lows falling to around 68 degrees.

Starting after midnight, there will be a chance of rain, with a chance of thunderstorms starting closer to dawn on Monday. Rain will be likely starting soon after dawn, with a chance of thunderstorms that will continue into Monday evening.

Additional thunderstorms are likely late Sunday through Monday, with local heavy rainfall and flooding possible. A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and early evening, which could bring strong to damaging winds.

Chances will fall in the evening before coming to an end around midnight.

Monday’s temperatures will be warm, but not as warm as the weekend, with highs around 82 degrees. Lows will be around 63 degrees on Monday night.
