Today will be partly sunny and hot, with increasing clouds and a chances of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and overnight, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
There will be a slight chance of showers starting around noon that will gradually rise for the rest of the afternoon. The NWS also predicted a slight chance of thunderstorms starting soon after that is expected to fall away before dark.
The best chance for storms is west of the Interstate 75 corridor.

Highs will be around 90 degrees.
Overnight, it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, mostly before midnight, though a slight chance of rain will continue through morning. Lows will be around 70 degrees.
On Wednesday, there will be a chance of rain throughout the day, with a chance of thunderstorms starting in the afternoon. Both shower and storm chances will continue until around midnight.
Otherwise the NWS predicted it will be mostly sunny with a high around 88 degrees during the day, followed by a mostly cloudy night with lows around 67 degrees.
Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a slight chance of showers throughout the day and a slight chance of thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Highs will be around 79 degrees.
Thursday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 62 degrees.
