Scattered showers possible through midnight; perfect holiday weekend ahead

Scattered showers are possible this evening through midnight, after which drier and clearer conditions are expected.

The high for today was recorded at 81 degrees in Dayton, 75 degrees in Cincinnati and 76 degrees in Columbus. Overnight will be partly cloudy with a low around 62 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Conditions will be dry for the end of the workweek and through the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Also, skies will be clear for weekend fireworks displays.

It will be mostly sunny for Friday with a high near 76 degrees. Skies stay mostly clear Friday night with an overnight low around 56 degrees.

Saturday will be sunny with a high near 80 degrees. Overnight will be mostly clear with a low around 62 degrees.

Independence Day will be mostly sunny with a high near 87 degrees.

The night skies will be perfect for Independence Day fireworks shows, with mostly clear skies. Overnight temperatures fall to around 67 degrees.

Monday will be sunny and hot with a high near 90 degrees. It will be mostly clear overnight with a low around 68 degrees.
