Summer-like temperatures arrive; isolated showers possible today

Temperatures this weekend are expected to soar up to nearly 90 degrees, the National Weather Service in Wilmington reported. The Dayton area is expected to hit highs of 89 degrees on Friday and Saturday.

The NWS said in normal years about 10 days between March and May reach 80 degrees, and Dayton has seen three days with high temperatures so far.

On Friday temperatures will again be hot, though the NWS predicted clouds will increase slowly throughout the day for partly cloudy skies at night.

Highs Saturday and Sunday also will be in the upper 80s with mostly sunny skies.
