» Furious Rose McGowan blasts old friend Alyssa Milano on Twitter over Weinstein’s wife
And she made her feelings clear. She specifically called out award-winning actress Meryl Streep, a nominee for her performance in The Post, and railed about how "silence is the problem."
McGowan, who noted that Streep worked for Weinstein (referencing him as "The Pig Monster"), concluded by suggesting the potential protesters should all wear Marchesa, a fashion label co-founded by Weinstein's estranged wife, Georgina Chapman.
McGowan tweeted Saturday: "Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You'll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa."
» Harvey Weinstein booted from film academy
Streep hasn't confirmed that she'll be participating in the protest, according to People. In fact, the actress spoke about the Weinstein scandal at a women's conference Dec. 7 in Boston. Sharing the stage with Gloria Steinem, she said the accusations that Weinstein faces are "the most gargantuan example of disrespect" pervading all industries.
