Pair of Wright State players selected in MLS Draft

The Horizon League champion Wright State soccer team has produced a pair of MLS draft picks.

The Seattle Sounders chose Jake Stovall in the third round while the Colorado Rapids picked Peguy Ngatcha in the fourth round.

Stovall is from Centerville and was an All-Horizon League first-teamer while Ngatcha was the HL Player of the Year and named the conference’s best offensive player after tying for the league lead with 10 goals.

Coach Ryan Davis called it a huge moment for the university, soccer team and department of athletics.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the two men selected as they were rewarded for the risk and chance they took on a young coach and growing program when they decided to attend here a few years ago,” Davis said.

“Their four years here helped develop them as players but more so as fine men. They deserve all they achieve and all that comes their way. We are very excited for them.”

The only Raider previously drafted by an MLS team was Winston Marshall (FC Dallas) in 2005.
