The pitching version of Hunter Greene has arrived.

Green, the Reds’ second overall choice in the 2017 MLB draft, made his pitching debut Sunday for the Billings Mustangs of the pioneer league. He floated in the high-90s before hitting triple digits on his sixth pitch.

The 18-year-old Greene threw 15 pitches in his only inning of work, but it was enough to make an impression.

"It felt really good," said Greene, who threw 12 strikes. "Just going out there and competing like I usually do, just having a lot of fun and a great team behind me … just having the fans, too, behind me and just having great people in general ready to watch a good game of baseball is really awesome."

Greene first debuted as a hitter on Aug. 8.

“It’s the best feeling being able to go out there in the first game and get a strikeout under my belt,” Greene said. “(To) hear the fans in the crowd and my teammates cheering me on was great.”
