Tyler Eifert’s status for Sunday uncertain

The return to health of both Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert, seen here catching a touchdown pass last season against the Eagles, and wide receiver A.J. Green is cause for optimism for Cincinnati. Add rookie wide receivers John Ross and Josh Malone and running back Joe Mixon, and the Bengals are aiming to be one of the most potent offenses in the NFL.

The Bengals’ offense could use all the help it can get for Sunday in Green Bay. But that may not include its star tight end Tyler Eifert.

Eifert’s status is up in the air, ESPN reports. Eifert is dealing with back and knee injuries.

Eifert has just four catches for 46 yards in the Bengals’ first two games, but just having him on the field is big for Cincinnati. He’s missed 26 games over the last three seasons.

The Bengals have scored nine points in two games and no touchdowns.
