Current Madison head coach Steve Poff was a junior fullback on the winning team. His 6-yard run on fourth-and-2 led to the Mohawks’ final touchdown by Damon Lee. A 55-yard punt return by John Blaylock had set up the drive.

Scott Smith scored Madison’s first TD on a 23-yard run off a fake field goal. It completed a 10-play, 99-yard drive after a goal-line stand by the Mohawks. Erik Snell also hit Kolby Miller with an 11-yard scoring pass.
It was a long game marred by penalties. Madison had 14 for 120 yards, while Valley View had 10 for 80 yards.
