HS Roundup 2/13: Fort Recovery, Marion Local girls split MAC title

The Fort Recovery and Marion Local girls basketball teams each earned a claim to the Midwest Athletic Conference title following wins on Thursday night.

Fort Recovery defeated New Bremen 47-41 behind 12 points from Valerie Muhlenkamp and 11 from Alli Vaughn.

The conference title is the first for Fort Recovery since the 1990-91 season.

Marion Local won a share of the title with a 53-51 overtime victory versus Coldwater.

Heidi Rethman led the way for Marion Local with 18 points and Brooke Homan added 12.

Division I

Beavercreek 46, Tecumseh 45: Coach Ed Zink tallied his 799th career victory for Beavercreek.

Edgewood 63, Turpin 47: Chloe Butler turned in a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead Edgewood. Zoe Stephen added 18 points and Faith Whitt 10.

Fairmont 55, Stebbins 10: Madeline Westbeld finished with 12 points and Madison Bartley added 10 for Fairmont, which opened the game on a 23-0 run.

Lebanon 43, Little Miami 36: Kendall Folley totaled 21 points and Logan Mueller 12 to lead Lebanon.

Division II

Fenwick 58, Stivers 26: Rachel Tebbe and Madalyn Mahoney each chipped in 12 points to pace Fenwick.

REGULAR SEASON

Fort Loramie 66, Botkins 21: Marissa Meiring recorded 14 points and Fort Loramie finished the regular season unbeaten.
