HS Roundup 11/29: Ferrell leads Franklin in win

Layne Ferrell dropped in 24 points in leading Franklin to a 66-44 win versus Oakwood in girls basketball on Thursday.

Emily Newton added 11 points for Franklin, which put the game out of reach with a 20-6 run to open the second half.

Margie Conrath had 17 points and Lauren Hapgood 11 for Oakwood.

Girls Basketball

Arcanum 66, Ansonia 34: Taylor Gray totaled 21 points and Hailey Unger and Gracie Garno tacked on 10 for Arcanum. Ansonia was led by Trinity Henderson with 19 points.

Catholic Central 57, Lehman Catholic 50: Abbigail Peterson poured in 25 points and Mallory Mullen added 16 to lead Central.

Covington 43, Tri-County North 16: Sammi Whiteman led Covington with 18 points.

Franklin Monroe 53, Newton 23: Corina Conley poured in 25 points to pace Franklin Monroe.

Miami East 42, National Trail 24: Morgan Haney recorded 17 points with five steals and Camryn Miller hauled in nine rebounds to lead Miami East.

New Bremen 51, Houston 34: Kelly Naylor netted 20 points and Kayla Bergman tacked on 14 for New Bremen. Hayden Riesenbeck had 10 points for Houston.

New Knoxville 36, St. Marys 22: Megan Jurosic scored 12 points for New Knoxville.

Springfield Shawnee 41, Mechanicsburg 39: Paree Furness scored 22 points, including a pair of foul shots late in the contest to put Shawnee ahead. Laine Wilhelm led ‘Burg with 14 points.

Tri-Village 37, Bradford 18: Maddie Downing tallied 21 points for Tri-Village. Skipp Miller led Bradford with eight points.
