H.S. Results for 2/13: Day, Yoder lead WLS girls in win

The West Liberty-Salem girls basketball team held off a late rally from Mechanicsburg in a 51-47 win on Monday.

Kelsey Day scored 18 points and Lily Yoder added 16 to lead WLS.

Mikayla Dodane paced Mechanicsburg with 21 points and Kasey Schipfer added 12.

West Lib moved to 21-1 overall and 13-0 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.

Girls Basketball

Miami Valley 48, Fenwick 37: Liz Bush scored 15 points and Tia Karras and Alyssa Clements tacked on 13 apiece to lead Miami Valley to a rally victory. Hannah Tebbe led Fenwick with 10 points.

New Bremen 82, Parkway 43: Macy Puthoff tallied 20 points and Kayla Bergman added 15 for New Bremen. Sydney Crouch paced Parkway with 15 points.

Marion Local 41, Delphos SJ’s 35: Natalie Rethman put up 24 points for Marion Local. Betty Vorst had 11 points for DSJ.

Boys Basketball

Troy Christian 66, Yellow Springs 54: James Anderson carried Troy Christian with 21 points. James Browning had 18 points for Yellow Springs.

Lima Shawnee 77, New Knoxville 61: Nathan Tinnerman recorded 20 points and Nick Topp 16 in a losing effort for New Knoxville.

Fairborn 2320, Xenia 2268: James Lewis III shot a 268 game and J.T. Cherpeski added a 237 for Fairborn.

Lebanon 2545, Kings 2454: Tanner Roark rolled a 438 series to lead Lebanon.

Miamisburg 2340, Franklin 2086: Sam Fisher had the high series for Miamisburg with games of 244 and 212.

Sidney 2443, Greenville 1782: Sidney wrapped up a share of the Greater Western Ohio Conference North title. Josh Abbott and Austin Simon led the way with a 491 series from both bowlers.

Girls Bowling

Fairborn 2268, Xenia 1884: Audrey Renner bowled a 428 series, Alyssa Lewis tacked on a 202 game and Hannah Borchert a 200 game for Fairborn.

Lebanon 2302, Kings 2002: Mia Kordowski led Lebanon with a 368 series.

Miamisburg 2127, Franklin 2074: Chrissy Journell notched games of 222 and 202 and Skylar Born added a 221 to help Miamisburg improve to 16-1.

Sidney 1796, Greenville 1627: Heather Gold paced Sidney with a 408 series.
