Malik Zaire, granted his release from Notre Dame last week, has a pair of potential transfer destinations on his travel itinerary.

Scout.com reported Tuesday the former Alter standout will visit North Carolina and Wisconsin.

Also of note: the lefty quarterback is interested in moving away from a run-based spread offense.

As for the quarterback situation at those two schools, North Carolina starter Mitch Trubisky (a northeast Ohio native) is a junior who could enter the NFL draft.

Wisconsin had senior Bart Houston and freshman Alex Hornibrook split time this past season.
