Reds will open 2021 season against Cardinals

The 2020 season doesn’t start for two weeks, but Major League Baseball announced the 2021 schedule Thursday.

The Cincinnati Reds will play the Saint Louis Cardinals on Opening Day on April 1, 2021, at Great American Ball Park. The Reds play a three-game series against the Cardinals and then stay at home for three games against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Reds play interleague series against American League Central Division opponents. The 162-game schedule ends with a three-game series in Pittsburgh from Oct. 1-3.
