The NFL draft begins Thursday night. The Cleveland Browns are picking first.

Those two things we know.

What is uncertain is who they will take.

There is no shortage of speculation on who might be their choice, though most seem to agree they will take a quarterback.

At least one sportsbook sees an overwhelming favorite.

Sam Darnold is getting 5/12 odds from Bovada to be the No. 1 pick.

The USC quarterback is heavily favored over Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen (8/5) and Penn State running back Saquon Barkley (11/2).

Also in the mix: UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and Georgia defensive end Bradley Chubb.

Now, is this information worth much?

Probably not.

Thursday night the Browns are gonna do what the Browns are gonna do. GM John Dorsey, coach Hue Jackson, et al, might even change their minds a few times between now and then.

Betting on what choice a group of humans might make seems a little different than who is going to win a game, but if people are willing to put money down on this, I can’t know the hustle of the sportsbooks.

The folks out there in Vegas have their ways of knowing things no one else does, too, so maybe they are more dialed in than anyone.
