H.S. Results for 5/16: Carlisle baseball tops Madison 10-4

In a Southwestern Buckeye League showdown, Carlisle emerged victorious, beating Madison, 10-4.

Caleb Stewart earned the win on the mound for Carlisle, pitching three innings and striking out three.

JJ Roberts, Reece Human, Jake Moore, Adam Goodpaster, Jake Glover, Caleb Stewart, Dane Flatter and Brandon Saylor all scored runs for Carlisle.

Reid Davis had two runs in Madison’s losing effort.

Baseball

Northmont 7, Anna 0: Ryan Tanto struck out five batters to earn the shutout win for Northmont. Tanto pitched a complete game. C. Croneback led the team offensively, going 3-for-5 with two runs. R. Pullins went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Springboro 11, Kenton Ridge 6: In an eventful night for the Panthers, Ryan Little earned his first win on the mound for Springboro. Justin McConnell earned a single, hit a homerun, had three RBIs and stole two bases to lead Springboro to victory.

Softball

Riverside 5, Ansonia 4: Riverside rallied back from a four run deficit to win the sectional title. Kristin Davidson led the team offensively, earning the winning run while going 4-for-4 with a double. Marissa Davis had the game winning hit.

Boys Tennis

Miami Valley 4, Centerville 1: Colton Morehart, Michael Perevozchikov and Reece Quigley swept the singles sets for Miami Valley. Joe Keller/Amin Ahmed had the doubles win to seal the victory for Miami Valley. The doubles team of Zach Holnrook and Ryan Murphy had the lone win for Centerville.

Boys Volleyball

Carroll 3, Fairmont 2: Carroll won their sets 25-18, 25-15 and 16-14 after dropping the first two sets. Fairmont won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-23. Gard had 25 kills and 21 digs for Carroll, while Brun chipped in 22 kills and 15 digs. Bethel led the Patriots with 52 assists and 24 digs.

Purcell Marian 3, Edgewood 1: Purcell Marian won their sets 25-20, 25-23 and 25-23, just barely edging out Edgewood. Edgewood won their lone set 25-23. Logan Flynn had 15 kills and three blocks in the Edgewood loss.

Alter 3, McNicholas 2: Alter won their sets 25-22, 25-14 and 15-8. McNicholas managed to steal two sets, 30-28 and 30-28. Kabel had 58 assists, 9 digs and two aces for the Knights, while Rose chipped in 25 kills, 19 digs and one block. Hascher added on another 16 kills, two aces and two blocks and Hartman rounded everything out with 22 digs.
