"It is with the heaviest of hearts that KYFCO Board had to make a decision based off of rules and guidelines set forth by numerous entities," KYFCO announced on Facebook. "Due to not having contact sport guidelines and the request to continue social distancing measures until July 1, we would not be able to ensure the safety of our children, spectators, and our parents which are our first priority.

“The Board of Trustees as well as the Executive Board of the KYFCO are saddened to announce that we cannot proceed with our 2020 Football and Cheer season. Please understand that this was a difficult decision that we would have never anticipated. There are other youth clubs that are still planning to move forward with a season based upon their cities guidelines If you decide that you would like to attempt signing up with these originations we wish you the best of luck.”

In previous years, the organization has offered football and cheerleading for kids from the first through sixth grades. Practice would have started July 20 for football players and July 21 for cheerleaders, and the first regular-season games would have been held Aug. 15-16.

Teams compete in the Western Ohio Junior Football Conference, which has teams from Fairborn, Meadowdale, Miamisburg, Springfield, Vandalia, Wayne, West Carrollton and Wilmington.
