Homer Bailey will make his 2017 debut Saturday for the Cincinnati Reds, starting a 4:05 p.m. game against the Nationals in Washington, D.C., according to multiple reports.

Reds manager Bryan Price announced Bailey’s start after an 8-3 loss to the Rays in Tampa, Fla.

Bailey, who has been on the disabled list all season after undergoing elbow surgery in February, threw 5 2/3 innings Monday in his latest rehab start for the Triple-A Louisville Bats. Previously, he threw six shutout innings for the Dayton Dragons. Bailey was 3-0 with a 3.08 ERA in three minor-league starts.
