High School Football: Week Six Roundup

E.J. Davis raced down the sideline, scoring with nine seconds to play on a 52-yard hook-and-ladder as Sidney rallied for a 24-17 win versus Fairborn in Friday night football action.

Cedric Johnson threw a pass to Lathan Jones and Jones lateraled to Davis for the winning score.

Fairborn had tied the game in the final minute on a Hunter Warner two-yard run and a Cam Hamilton two-point conversion.

Davis finished with 26 carries for 188 yards with a rushing score to go along with his winning TD play.

Warner had 25 carries for 133 yards for Fairborn.

The win halted a two-game skid for Sidney, which moved to 2-4; Fairborn fell to 2-4.


Brookville 35, Oakwood 14: Connor Michael and Jack Meyers each had a pair of touchdown runs to help Brookville improve to 5-1. Jaiden Spahr scored on a 90-yard kickoff return and Mason Talarczyk added a three-yard TD run for Oakwood.

Chaminade Julienne 56, Carroll 27: Quincy Johnson rumbled for five touchdowns to help Chaminade Julienne improve to 5-1 and open conference play in winning fashion.

Clinton-Massie 36, Goshen 7: Carson Vanhoose ran for 122 yards with a score and Brendan Lamb added 119 rushing yards with a score for Clinton-Massie.

Coldwater 42, New Bremen 16: Jake Hemmelgarn finished 24-of-37 for 295 yards with three touchdowns along with a 109 yards and a pair of rushing scores for unbeaten Coldwater. Mitchell Hays tossed a touchdown and ran another in for New Bremen.

Covington 35, Miami East 13: Cade Schmelzer threw two touchdown passes and Andrew Cates caught and ran for a TD to pace Covington.

Fairfield 20, Lakota East 14: Jutahn McClain rumbled for 68 yards on a touchdown to put unbeaten Fairfield ahead in the closing minutes. McClain tallied 221 yards on the ground with two scores. Mark Krajewski had two TD runs for Lakota East.

Fairmont 14, Miamisburg 7: Keon Wright hauled in two touchdown passes from Male’k Hillon, including the game-winner late in the third quarter for Fairmont. Braden Barr scored on a seven-yard scramble for ‘Burg.

Fenwick 13, McNicholas 7: David Schuh rushed in for the lone Fenwick touchdown and Meghan Creech kicked a pair of field goals to help Fenwick open conference play with a win.

Fort Recovery 27, Parkway 26: Parkway scored all 26 points in the final quarter in a comeback bid that fell short after a two-point conversion pass went incomplete. Clay Schmitz threw three touchdown passes and scored on a keeper to lead Fort Recovery. Nick Hawk caught an eight-yard TD pass for Parkway with 18 seconds to play to set up the failed conversion attempt.

Franklin 38, Preble Shawnee 36: Preble Shawnee gave Franklin all they could handle, taking the lead with 5:17 to play, but Franklin booted the game-winning field goal late to pull out the win.

Graham 34, Ben Logan 32: Brady King passed for 237 yards and four touchdowns, three to Zack Vanscoy, to help Graham hold off Ben Logan. Vanscoy finished with five catches for 175 yards. Ben Logan rallied in the fourth quarter off of two Tanner Perkins TD passes and a Perkins TD run.

Greenville 21, Tippecanoe 7: Tyler Beyke scrambled for two touchdowns and Alec Fletcher added a 52-yard interception return for a score to pace Greenville. Cade Beam ran in the lone TD for Tippecanoe.

Harrison 42, Talawanda 7: Deondre Bothast-Revalee’s 50-yard touchdown run was the lone bright spot for Talawanda. Bothast-Revalee finished with 15 carries for 103 yards.

Jonathan Alder 35, Kenton Ridge 16: Dylan Lemen racked up 252 yards on the ground with one touchdown along with 91 passing yards but unbeaten Jonathan Alder pulled away early.

Lakota West 35, Oak Hills 0: Mitch Bolden connected with Caleb Rao on a pair of long touchdown throws and David Afari and Aden Miller added TD runs for Lakota West.

Marion Local 35, St. Henry 14: Grant Meier and Brandon Fleck each had a pair of touchdown runs to help Marion Local move to 5-1. K.J. Jacobs scored twice on TD runs for St. Henry.

Mason 35, Hamilton 21: Keyshawn Stephens scored twice in the first quarter to help Hamilton move ahead early but Mason went on a 35-0 run to pull away.

New Miami 55, Cin. College Prep 32: Undefeated New Miami went on a 34-16 run in the second half to put the game out of reach. Trey Robinette had four rushing touchdowns and one TD pass to lead the way.

Northridge 46, Carlisle 0: Darryl Story Jr. and Riley Holmes each had a pair of touchdown passes and Matt Moon hauled in a TD pass and scored on a punt return to lead Northridge.

Princeton 43, Middletown 21: Josh Bryant tallied 214 yards with two touchdown runs and Mason Dearth hit a pair of field goals in the loss for Middletown.

Southeastern 35, Greeneview 14: Tucker Eriksen tossed two TD passes to Austin Sanders and one to Hayden McKee to help Southeastern pick up its first win. Tanner Scoops tacked on an 89-yard kickoff return for a score and Sanders had an interception return for a TD. Dakota Mangan accounted for both of Greeneview’s touchdowns.

Springboro 27, Northmont 21: Springboro surged ahead early then held off a late Northmont rally to remain unbeaten. Landon Palmer threw TD passes to Conner Heyser and Kaleel Trent and Timmy Keseday scored on a 23-yard run to help ‘Boro build an early lead. Keaton Kesling threw three touchdowns, all in the second half, to lead the Northmont rally effort.

St. Marys 39, Kenton 34: Ethan Wedding leapt into the endzone on a four-yard scramble with 2:27 to play to put St. Marys ahead and a Ty Howell interception sealed the win. Kenton quarterback Blaine Huston completed 52 passes for 636 yards in the loss.

Summit Country Day 42, Dayton Christian 41, 2OT: Dayton Christian dropped a heartbreaker after falling short on a two-point conversion attempt in the second overtime. Seth Griswold threw for 199 yards with two touchdowns and added 154 yards on the ground in a losing effort.

Trotwood 28, Lebanon 23: Sammy Anderson hauled in two TD passes from Keon’tae Huguely in the first quarter to help Trotwood open up an early lead. Huguely finished with 190 yards and three touchdowns. Lebanon pulled within six points with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter but the Trotwood defense held on for the win.

Troy 42, Stebbins 7: Troy rattled off 28 unanswered points in the second half to improve to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play. Brayden Siler led the way with two TD passes and two rushing scores. Marvelous Rutledge broke through on a 46-yard touchdown run for Stebbins.

West Carrollton 39, Piqua 34: Kamaury Cleveland tossed for 307 yards and added three TD runs and West Carrollton picked up its first win in upset fashion. Austin Jones became the career receiving touchdowns leader at West Carrollton, hauling in 12 passes for 179 yards and a pair of scores.

West Liberty-Salem 42, Triad 0: Nick Burden returned an interception for a score, Trevor Woodruff ran for one TD and threw another and Isaiah McGill added two TD runs for unbeaten WLS.

Xenia 21, Butler 0: Kevin Johnson scored on a short run in the first half and Andrew Pollender and Brett Russell each added short TD runs in the second half to help Xenia move to 5-1 and 3-0 in conference play.
