Former Dayton Flyers forward Ally Malott will play professional basketball in Latvia next season.

Malott, the seventh-leading scorer in Dayton history with 1,504 points, signed with TTT Riga on Thursday. Riga is the capital of Latvia, a country on the Baltic Sea in eastern Europe.

"I chose TTT because the club has a great reputation,” Malott told Riga’s website. “The team has many players who have played together for several seasons and experienced coaches from whom I hope to learn all season. I'm ready to work hard, get to know the team and people.”

Malott, a Middletown Madison graduate who was a senior in 2015 when UD reached the Elite Eight, played 47 games in the WNBA in 2015 and 2016 with the Washington Mystics, averaging 2.7 points. She was the eighth overall pick in the first round in 2015. The Mystics waived her in May.

Malott played in Turkey for two months after her first WNBA season. Last season, after the WNBA season ended, Malott played with the Dandenong Rangers in Australia. She averaged 9.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
