Cincinnati Bengals staff to coach in Senior Bowl

The Cincinnati Bengals will get an up-close look at some of the top NFL Draft prospects later this month in the 71st Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.

The NFL assigned the Bengals and Lions staffs to coach in the game. The Bengals and Lions own the No. 1 and No. 3 picks, respectively, in the NFL Draft in April in Las Vegas.

“Coaching in the Senior Bowl is a great opportunity for us to learn about these players,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said in a release. “You get a chance to spend a full week with the players and really learn what they’re about. We will be looking for leadership, character and talent. To get a chance to coach them up close and in person is a great opportunity for our staff.”

The teams are prioritized based on NFL draft order. The Lions got the nod over the Redskins, who own the No. 2 pick, because they have their full staff in place. Washington is still building its staff under recently named head coach Ron Rivera.

Dayton tight end Adam Trautman and Ohio State’s K.J. Hill, Jonah Jackson, DaVon Hamilton and Malik Harrison are some of the players who have accepted invitations to play in the game.
