Blooper reel: Braves minor leaguer turns at-bat into crime scene

Remember a few weeks ago when the Marlins Marcell Ozuna went down -- literally -- swinging in a blooper moment? Well, a Braves minor leaguer topped that in a big way, and a teammate is helping immortalize his miserable moment.

It was bad enough for AAA Gwinnett Braves outfielder Xavier Henry when he tried to check his swing Tuesday in a game against Norfolk, lost his balance and went stumbling five or six yards before crashing to Earth, but teammate Micah Johnson has made it worse by pumping video of the miscue out into the social media stratosphere.

This is beginning to feel like a fast-spreading virus.

If you know anything at all about minor league baseball and the shenanigans that go on within (think of the movie, Bull Durham), it will come as no surprise that this mishap did not simply go away. Somebody turned it into a crime scene, and this landed on the Gwinnett Braves' website a day later:

As if all of this weren’t difficult enough for Henry to deal with, Johnson followed up yesterday.

At least Johnson’s apologizing, sort of . . .
