Bengals face long odds with Steelers, Ravens success

As if the odds weren’t against the 0-2 Bengals enough (roughly eight percent of teams that lose their first two games qualify for the postseason), the division looks like an upward climb.

The Steelers took down the Sam Bradford-less Vikings relatively easily Sunday. That comes after a slightly underwhelming win against Cleveland. Either way, Pittsburgh is 2-0 and the offense looks as advertised.

The Raven’s defense looks like the one of old. It abused the Browns just a week after shutting out the Bengals. The Ravens have forced 10 turnovers; the Bengals have scored nine points.

Already with two AFC losses, and one in division, the Bengals are in a tough spot. And they’ll face an angry Packers team next week that was embarrassed on Sunday Night Football.

With Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton both potentially with their backs against the wall, they’ll need to respond quickly and emphatically before the sinking ship is under water.
