Another night game scheduled for Ohio State this month

Ohio State will play three night games in the first month of the season.

That became known Monday when the school announced the Buckeyes’ visit from Wisconsin on Sept. 24 will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Ohio Stadium and be seen on ABC.

The Buckeyes opened the season at home under the lights against Notre Dame, and they are set to play in prime time again Saturday night when Toledo comes to town.

On Oct. 1, they will finish a season-opening five-game homestand at 3:30 p.m. against Rutgers then go on the road for the first time this season a week later.

The time has not been set for the Oct. 8 game at Michigan State and likely will not be until Sept. 26.

The only other kickoff time determined so far is the season finale against Michigan, which will be at noon on Fox on Nov. 26.

The only other time Ohio Stadium hosted three night games in one season was 2014 when the Buckeyes lost to Virginia Tech and later beat Cincinnati and Illinois. They also had two night road games that season, at Penn State and Michigan State.

Ohio State played four night games last regular season, including two at home and two on the road.

Weekly honors: Also Monday the Big Ten announced Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of the offensive co-players of the week in the conference.

The OSU sophomore shared the honor with Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, who accounted for five touchdowns in the Terrapins’ 56-21 win over Charlotte.

Harrison caught seven passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns Saturday as Ohio State downed Arkansas State 45-12.

Michigan State defensive lineman Jacoby Windmon is the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after forcing three fumbles in MSU’s 52-0 win over Akron. He also had 2.5 tackles for loss, including 1.5 sacks. He was also the Big Ten DPOW in week one.

Iowa defensive tackle Lukas Van Ness was named special teams player of the week while Penn Sate running back Nicholas Singleton is the conference freshman of the week.

Van Ness blocked two punts as the Hawkeyes lost to Iowa State 10-7.

Singleton ran for 179 yards on only 10 carries as the Nittany Lions beat Ohio 46-10. He had touchdown runs of 70 and 44 yards.
