Heat builds for Father’s Day weekend

Expect mostly clear skies and overnight lows in the middle 60s, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

Saturday: Lots of sunshine with hot and humid weather to start the weekend. Highs will top out near 90 degrees with a heat index near 95 degrees.

Father's Day: It will remain hot and humid under mostly sunny skies on Sunday. Highs will be in the lower 90s with a heat index approaching 100 degrees.

Monday: It will remain hot and humid. Partly cloudy skies are expected with a chance for a pop-up shower or storm in the afternoon or evening. Highs will remain in the lower 90s.

Tuesday: Expect scattered showers and storms. Temperatures will hold in the upper 80s.
