WATCH: Meet the candidates for the 4th Ohio District seat in forum held Tuesday

Miami University, the League of Women Voters of Oxford and the Journal-News partnered to present the first virtual debate in the 2020 campaign season.

Candidates for the 4th Ohio Senate District — Ohio Rep. George Lang, R-West Chester Twp., Democrat Kathy Wyenandt, of Liberty Twp., and write-in candidate Kent Keller Sr., a Republican from Middletown — addressed various questions on Tuesday asked by panelists. Questions ranged from gun control, House Bill 6, K-12 and higher education, and rebuilding public trust in light of recent alleged corruption by the former Ohio House speaker.

The next scheduled debate is Oct. 6 between Middletown School Board member Michelle Novak and Madison Twp. Trustee Thomas Hall. The public will be able to watch it live on Zoom, or the subsequent recording of the forum which will be posted online.

Ohioans can register to vote in the Nov. 3 general election until Oct. 5. Early voting begins Oct. 6.
