2-vehicle crash results in 2 being transported to Fairfield hospital

Police responded to the 7200 block of Dixie Highway for a two-vehicle accident, but exactly how it happened is unclear, according to police.

The scene has cleared, but crews were dispatched at 12:12 p.m. today to Dixie Highway in front of Furniture Fair. A second ambulance was requested at 12:20 p.m.

The accident involved a Chevy Aveo and a Nissan Sentra, but Officer Mike Woodall said the two drivers of the vehicles had conflicting stories.

“We’re not exactly sure how it occurred,” he said, adding there were no witnesses to the crash.

Both drivers were taken to Mercy Health-Fairfield by ambulance. No other occupants were in either vehicle, Woodall said.
