University of Cincinnati ranked one of 2018 U.S. News ‘Best Colleges’

The University of Cincinnati received high marks in U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 ‘Best Colleges’ ranking released today.

UC was named No. 133 in the category of best “National Universities,” according to the annual ranking. The school tied for No. 133 with the University of Kentucky, the University of Arkansas, Rutgers University, Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge, Mercer University and The New School.

UC was also ranked highly in six other categories. The university was named the No. 63 best public school and the No. 83 best school for veterans, according to the ranking.

Around 1,388 schools are included in the ranking, according to U.S. News.

U.S. News surveyed more than 1,275 schools for statistical data used to determine the rankings and some additionally needed data was obtained through the National Center for Education Statistics. Information on financial resources, faculty, SAT and ACT scores, acceptance rates, six-year graduation rates and first-year retention rates were all considered, according to U.S. News.
