Truck driver found dead in semi cab at I-75 rest area in Butler County

UPDATE @ 3:09 p.m.: A truck driver may have died in his sleeper cab while the semi was parked at a rest area on Interstate 75 north in Butler County, officials told this news outlet.

“It looks like he fell asleep in his sleeper cab and may have had a medical issue,” Sgt. Chris Crisafi of the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Hamilton post said.

The driver may have died one to two days ago, he said. The Butler County Coroner’s Office retrieved the body and will be doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Troopers did not find any drugs or signs of foul play or suicide, according to Crisafi. The truck was locked when troopers began to investigate.

The name of the truck driver has not yet been released.

The trucking company will remove the truck, which was parked toward the northern end of the rest stop, according to Crisafi.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a death at a rest area on Interstate 75 north in Butler County.

Dispatchers at the Lebanon post said a body was discovered about 12:41 p.m. Tuesday. Portions of the rest area have been closed for the active crime scene investigation, dispatchers said.
