A Middletown man was charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs after he allegedly had about 270 grams of methamphetamine in his car.
A vehicle driven by Eric Egelston was stopped Tuesday morning at Germantown Road and Wilbraham Road, according to police. The stop was made after a drug investigation by the Middletown Special Operations Unit in cooperation with the Warren County Drug Task Force, Middletown police said.
When officers searched the vehicle, the methamphetamine allegedly was found, according to police.
Egelston, 40, is in the Middletown City Jail.
His preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15, according to court documents.
