Traffic is back to normal on Interstate 75 south heading from Butler County into Hamilton County after gridlock that lasted for a little more than three-and-a-half hours.

One lane remained open as motorists passed the scene, which was fully cleared at 11:23 a.m., when all lanes were re-opened.

Traffic on Interstate 75 south is backing up from Hamilton County several miles into Butler County due to a tractor trailer that lost its load just south of Interstate 275.

The incident involving spilled metal discs all over the busy roadway around the 16.5 mile marker was called in to emergency dispatchers at 7:51 a.m.

Traffic on I-75 south is bumper-to-bumper beyond at least Tylersville Road.

There’s not yet a timeframe for when the road will be reopened, but a wrecker was on the way to the scene to remove the truck from the roadway around 9:43 a.m., officials said.
