TORNADO WATCH: Butler County in path of severe weather

UPDATE @ 8:10 p.m.

A tornado watch is no longer in effect for Butler and Preble counties.

EARLIER REPORT

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for Butler and Preble counties.

Butler and Preble counties are under a "moderate" risk for severe storms and Warren an "enhanced" risk, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.

Severe weather potential is high, especially the further south and west you’re located.

Hail, damaging winds, flooding and an isolated tornado are  possible.

The most intense storms are expected late afternoon into the evening.

Staying alert and having a plan in place in the event that severe weather begins is important.

Remember to move indoors, stay away from windows and head to the lowest interior room of a sturdy structure.

All severe thunderstorms should be treated as though a tornado could develop.
