For almost two years, the Community Building Institute and Middletown Moving Forward have been reaching out to the Middletown community with a simple question, “What if Middletown……?”

Tonight, Middletown City Council will hear the results of what the organizations have learned through their community engagement efforts.

Council meets at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Middletown City Building, One Donham Plaza.

When Middletown residents in 2015 were asked what would make their city better, the top responses were improved streets, the reopening of community pools and a new restaurant in town. But not just any restaurant. Residents said they wanted a Chick-fil-A.

“What if Middletown……?” is a community engagement effort to get ideas for the future of the city through surveys, community conversations and forums with residents and other city stakeholders.

The effort asked Middletonians to share what they appreciate about the city and their thoughts about what Middletown can become by helping to create a vision and an action plan to make that happen.
