UPDATE @2:37 p.m.:

Power has been restored, according to Duke Energy.

The company did confirm on its website the outage was due to the weather.

UPDATE @ 12:56 p.m.

Duke Energy spokeswoman Sally Thelen said the outage in Fairfield was caused by one of the failure of a feeder line near the Dixie Highway and Woodridge Boulevard substation.

Crews are on scene and power is expected to be restored within a half hour, she said.

As of now, there’s no reason why the line failed, but Thelen said, “We did have storms move through and could be affecting it.”

There are still 2,172 energy customers still without power, according to the company.

More than 2,100 Duke Energy customers are currently without power in the Stockton area of the city of Fairfield.

Power was first reported out at 12:10 p.m. today, and Duke Energy reports they expect electric to be restored by 3:15 p.m. There are 2,172 customers without power.
