The Middletown Arson Task Force is investigating a Sept. 1 fire that damaged a house and garage and left an SUV a total loss.

The Middletown Police Department and Middletown Fire Department were dispatched just after 6 p.m. Sept. 1 to a home in the 2900 block of Inland Drive on a report of a garage fire and a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

The blaze, which involved a 2002 Ford Explorer that was a total loss, was extinguished.

There was damage to the home and garage. There was also damage to a fence and a neighboring house, according to a police report.

The investigation is continuing, according to a police report.
