Books may burn through Thursday in Columbus warehouse fire

Crews are battling a warehouse fire this evening just north of downtown Columbus.

The owner of the building in the 1100 block of Corrugated Way told this news outlets media partners at WBNS-TV in Columbus that part of the warehouse is Haydar’s Auto Sales and Service and the other side stores books. The book side is what’s burning.

Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin said crews were fighting the fire inside before the flames were too heavy on the roof, WBNS reported.

There is a firewall between the two sides of the warehouse, so there is not a concern the fire will spread, officials told the television station. However, the burning books, which are not made of any hazardous materials, may take until Thursday morning to put out, according to WBNS.

No injuries have been reported.
