Semi-minivan crash in Middletown causes warnings to avoid intersection; traffic lights not functioning

MIDDLETOWN — Motorists are being urged to avoid University Boulevard/Central Avenue/First Avenue in Middletown after a semi-truck and a minivan collided.

The city is working on “interim measures” to get the traffic signals functioning, but that process may take days, according to an official. Motorists should consider the intersection a four-way stop.

One minor injury was reported.
