INITIAL REPORT
The City of Hamilton Electric Department is experiencing a power outage on three separate circuits, affecting numerous areas, a department official confirmed just after 4 p.m. today.
Those areas include Eaton Avenue, Fort Hamilton Hospital, Highland Park, Carmen Avenue, Washington Boulevard, Taft Place, Livingston Drive, Brookwood Avenue, Beeler Blvd., Tiffany Court, Justin Place, Marlou Drive, Orient Way, Gordon-Smith Boulevard, Bristol View Drive, Colman Drive and Miami Way.
Nearly 2,000 customers are without power, officials said: 1,013 on the Random Hill circuit, 643 on the Pilsbury circuit and 343 on the Taft Place circuit.

Fort Hamilton Hospital, which has a secondary electricity feed from the city, is unaffected, according to Elizabeth Long, a spokeswoman for Kettering Health, of which the hospital is part.
“They have power,” Long said. “There’s no interruption of patient care.”
All necessary personnel have been dispatched and restoration efforts are underway, city officials said.
Individuals should stay away from downed power lines and anything with which they come in contact, especially metal fences, according to Hamilton’s electric department. Those who do see a downed power line are told to treat it as if it is energized and immediately call 911, officials said.
