Here’s why this Hamilton area was PACKED last night: It’s a new season at Flub’s

A Hamilton ice cream shop that is only open for a little more than half the year opened for the season Thursday to overflow crowds.

Flub’s, which was founded in 1965 by Ann and Mike “Flub’s” Connaughton and taken over in 2003 by son Brian Connaughton, is located across the street from a park that hosts baseball game, one of the factors that helped cement Flub’s as a staple of Hamilton life.

A second location opened in 2006 in Fairfield in 2006 and a third location in 2016 in Ross Twp.

Flavors to kick off the 2018 season are Orange, Blue Raspberry, Fresh Pineapple and Cherry Italian Ice, according to Flub’s.

Brian Connaughton previously told this news outlet that it’s been “an honor” to take over the business his parents created, grow it and provide “a fun, friendly atmosphere for families to come to not just once a month, but once or twice a week.”

“We’ve got so many loyal customers that … it’s very exhilarating that people think so much of us,” Connaughton said.
