Police reports: Brake lines cut out of vehicle

Jan. 11

Between 3 and 11 p.m., a bicycle was stolen from a backyard of a residence in the 500 block of Prytania Avenue.

Someone three a rock from the railroad tracks at a car as it drove through the underpass between 3:30 and 3:50 p.m. near St. Clair Avenue and Dixie Highway. The rock hit the windshield and bounced off the vehicle and did not leave any permanent damage to the windshield.

Jan. 12

An assault was reported between noon and 12:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Vine Street.

A rear license plate was stolen between noon Jan. 10 and noon Jan. 12 from a vehicle that was parked in the driveway in the 300 block of South C Street.

Someone stole the title to a vehicle sometime overnight from a residence in the 500 block of Ross Avenue.

A rock was thrown through an alley side window and breaking the glass before 3 p.m. at Tangles Hair Salon, 1020 High St.

A stereo was stolen from a vehicle between midnight and 3 p.m. in the 500 block of South Washington Boulevard.

A resident in the 700 block of East Avenue told police that a person came to the front door of her residence between 3:20 and 3:30 p.m. and threatened to kill her and her baby. The suspect walked off the front porch and the victim began taking video of the suspect. The resident asked the suspect to leave the property and the suspect left on foot.

While playing with a group of boys at a bird sanctuary between 3 and 3:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Campbell Drive, one boy said he was shot in the back by a BB gun by another boy. Also at the same time, another boy said he was shot in the legs by a BB gun.

An assault occurred between 1 and 2 a.m. in the 300 block of South Third Street.

Two speakers, a two-channel amplifier, a speaker box, a television and a four-channel amplifier were stolen from inside a vehicle that was parked between 2 a.m. Jan. 9 and noon Jan. 11 in the 1200 block of Wallace Street.

Thieves entered a vacant house between Dec. 15 and Jan. 12 in the 200 block of Progress Avenue. A freezer/refrigerator combination unit, a conventional stove and a stainless steel dishwasher. In addition, copper was cut and stolen from a 40-gallon water heater, an air compressor to a central air conditioning unit was stolen, electrical wiring was stolen from throughout the house, the copper waterline was cut throughout the house, and the gutters and downspouts were also stolen from the house.

A woman who was involved in a large altercation between 5:20 and 5:45 p.m. near North Ninth and Vine streets told police a man said he was going to burn her house down. Another woman told police that she had been assaulted about that time at that location.

A woman in the 900 block of Noyes Avenue told police that between midnight and 2:30 a.m., a person stole her purse that contained several types of prescription medication and two $50 bills.

An unknown person reportedly threw three rocks to break three windows before 10:37 a.m. at the New Life Baptist Mission Church, 415 Henry St.

An electric man-lift, valued at $6,500, and a metal fence post, were stolen between Jan. 7 and Jan. 12 in the 1000 block of Eaton Avenue. The missing items were stolen from the property as the company’s lease expired.

Both driver’s side tires to a vehicle were cut between 2 a.m. and 1 p.m. while it was parked in the 1000 block of Campbell Avenue.

Jan. 13

Someone cut the front brake lines of a vehicle that was parked between 1 p.m. Jan. 12 and 2 p.m. Jan. 13 in the 300 block of Vine Street.

An assault was reported between 4:30 and 5 p.m. in the 3000 block of Griesmer Avenue.
