Pedestrian struck in Middletown near YMCA, victim in stable condition at Dayton hospital

A man walking in downtown Middletown was struck Friday night near the YMCA.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene and transported the victim to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was listed in stable condition this morning, according to Middletown Police Chief David Birk.

Birk said the Middletown police department is investigating the accident along with the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.

The crash involving a pedestrian was reported just before 9 p.m. in the 1000 block of Manchester Avenue, which was shut down between North Verity Parkway and South Broad Street.
