The popular “wine and canvas” concept will come to Fairfield via a new business called Party With Art Studio, which is scheduled to open June 12.
Owned by Fairfield native and artist Tina Wright, the business not only allows people to rent party space, but will give both adults and children the opportunity to create arts or crafts during their party. It’s on the upper level of a building at 2334 Mack Road, formerly the home of a dental office. It will have six employees.
“It’s one of the fastest-growing businesses in the U.S. right now, this wine and canvas thing,” Wright said. “… party with craft would be a better way to put it.”
At Party with Art the paintings or crafts will be made in just over two hours, Wright said.
“There’s going to be great music and fun instructors to guide them through each step of the way to create their own masterpiece. We make it easy and fun,” she said.
Party with Art has a space for 24 painters, and also specializes in parties for children, with kids learning a craft during a birthday or other themed party in a room separate from the adult space. Children can make tiaras for a princess party, or pirate gear for a pirate party.
“We have a private room for that to happen. They can do different types of crafts for the younger crowd. They don’t have to do paintings. And it’s also the opportunity for people to teach their crafts out of here if they wish to. We have private rooms in the back,” Wright said.
While partygoers create the art, a portion of the proceeds from the business will go to various charities. “Pet night” proceeds will go to an animal rescue, and veterans will have periodic paint nights as well. On those occasions, “every painting will have an American flag in it one way or another, even if it’s small,” Wright said.
