Overnight outage leaves Hamilton in the dark

A two-hour power outage left the entire city of Hamilton dark Wednesday morning.

At 3:13 a.m., a transmission line caused the city to be separated from the grid, said spokesman Steven Fields. All 29,131 customers were without power.

By 5 a.m., crews were able to restore power to all customers.

“The transmission line that caused the separation from the power grid is isolated,” Fields said. “Crews are still investigating the cause.”
