Immigration checkpoints

If it is legal to set up checkpoints for DUI, then it should be legal to set up checkpoints for illegal aliens. All you would do is pull them over and check their papers. If their papers are proper, then they can go on. If they are not or there is some suspicion, then you arrest them and impound their vehicles. ...

Regarding President (Barack) Obama's recent statement where he was energizing his constituents: He said the people who voted for him were young people, women, blacks and Hispanics. I am none of the above and I did vote for him. I think I am entitled to one mistake. He is going down as one of our worst presidents. I thought he would be a president for everybody, but evidently he isn't everybody's president. ...

I am 100 percent for Sheriff (Richard) Jones' legislation. The Hispanic people: If they can't talk American, go home. We can't understand them here, but they need to go home. America is in bad shape right now. We need to worry about Americans. Talk American. Be American. This is America.

Or leading Phil Mickelson's life and doing nothing wrong and having your mother and wife — both suffering from cancer — there when Phil won the Masters? Come on, folks. Let's tell it like it is. ...

Regarding the bill that Sheriff (Richard) Jones and (State Rep.) Courtney Combs are trying to pass: ... I am social worker and I have worked with the Hispanic population the last 15 years. My family came over in 1901, looking for a better life, just like these people are. I see the struggles, tribulations and trials that these people have to go through, just to try to get here. Maybe (Jones) needs to go find other people to pick on and be more concerned with all the drugs, robberies and rapes going on. ... We have other problems that need to be worried about. So, Sheriff Jones, I challenge you to seek another thing to look at, instead of looking at immigration laws. ... My tax money goes to you to protect our people, not to worry about others' minority laws. ...
