Nutritional counseling now available in some area Kroger stores

A new health service is now being tested at certain Cincinnati-area Kroger stores where the grocery retailer operates in-store health clinics.

Kroger’s The Little Clinic has now added registered dietitian nutritionists at these test locations, which include Mason and West Chester Twp. grocery stores, the company announced this month. These dietitians provide services such as nutrition counseling by appointment and for a fee, according to The Little Clinic.

“The Little Clinic is best positioned within the retail health industry to add dietitians and nutrition-based services because we are located right inside the grocery store,” said Eileen Myers, vice president of retail dietetics and nutrition solutions, in a written statement.

“Our approach is truly a hands-on approach because we can easily take a store tour with patients, guide them to the foods that best fit their nutrition goals, teach them how to read food labels and create a personalized food plan to best support the patient’s goals, whether that’s weight management, food allergies, diabetes, improved sports performance or other health concerns,” she said.

Dietitians are available at the following stores, according to a list provided by The Little Clinic:

  • Amelia, 262 W. Main St.

  • Anderson, 7580 Beechmont Ave.
  • Cincinnati, 4613 Marburg Ave.
  • Delhi, 5080 Delhi Pike
  • Harper's Point, 11390 Montgomery Road
