El Rancho Nuevo is working to open a new location in Butler County.
The Mexican restaurant applied for a zoning certificate Dec. 6 for 9037 Union Centre Boulevard in West Chester Twp.
The new 5,242-square-foot location, which will feature its own tortilla machine, plus outdoor dining, a garden and patio heaters, is expected to open by next June, according to co-owner Juan Espinoza.
“It’s going to be big and beautiful,” Espinoza said.
The new restaurant joins existing locations in each of Fairfield Twp. and Liberty Twp., two in Deerfield Twp. and three in West Chester Twp. It will replace an existing 5,200-square-foot restaurant two miles to the west at 4978 Union Centre Pavilion in West Chester.
Lunch specials run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and start at $5.99. Happy Hour is from 3 to 6 p.m. daily featuring 25 percent off maragaritas and beer. Ladies night is 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays with 50 percent off house margaritas and drinks.
The restaurant chain, which has 100 employees, will be hiring more for the new location, Espinoza said.
Another location is projected to start construction next spring in Liberty Twp. at the corner of Ohio 4 and Kyles Station Road.
Your CBD Middletown
The nation’s largest brick-and-mortar chain providing cannabidiol (CBD), a compound found naturally in hemp plants, is expanding in Butler County with a new store, joining locations that opened earlier this year in Hamilton and West Chester Twp.
Middletown native Steve Rossi, of Monroe, opened Your CBD Middletown at 4492 Marie Drive in Middletown’s Kittyhawk Plaza Nov. 30.
The business offers CBD water soluble, CBD Tinctures, CBD edibles, CBD Vape products, CBD pet care, CBD skin care, and CBD topical cream. Products are third-party tested and organically grown in Colorado and Oregon.
The products are described as “the healthy side of cannabis,” derived from 100 percent organic, non-GMO industrial hemp and can be purchased without a prescription.
Rossi said he signed a 3-year lease for the new 1,400-square-foot location. The space is evenly split between a front display area with a lounge and a television for viewing informational videos, testimonials and holding social events and a training and storage area in the back.
Your CBD Store, which started 18 months, has more than 600 stores nationwide with eight open in the Tri-State area and more on the way. Each location employees two or three people.
Although CBD is popular, especially among those 55 years old and older, and legal in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, it is not regulated yet by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Customers must be 18 years old or older to enter.
