Cincinnati mayor to host event for Clinton

Private fundraiser will be held at mayor’s home.

A spokesman for Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley confirmed to our news partner WCPO that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will visit Cincinnati on Monday for a private fundraising event as well as a separate, public event.

But Clinton’s campaign is only confirming one of the two events.

WCPO reports Clinton will be at Cranley’s home for a private fundraiser, according to a spokesman. The station is also reporting the presidential candidate will also attend a public event.

Laura Zapata, a spokeswoman with the Hillary Clinton campaign, was only able to confirm Monday’s private fundraiser.

No campaign stops in or around Cincinnati are listed on the candidate’s website.

Clinton is scheduled to also stop in Cleveland on Monday, according to WCPO.

Former President Bill Clinton appeared at a February event in Cincinnati to campaign for his wife just ahead of the Ohio primary and a Democrat debate.

The former president campaigned for the mayor during his unsuccessful runs for the 1st Congressional District seat held by Rep. Steve Chabot, R-Westwood.
