9 Monroe streets that will be repaired this summer

Nine streets are slated for resurfacing this summer in Monroe as well as the completion of the sidewalk on South Main Street to the city’s Veterans Memorial.

Those streets include: Davis Drive, Meeker Lane, Linn Court, Stewart Way, Hiteshue Avenue, Leah Court, Trails End Drive, and Tam-O-Shanter Way. In addition, Conova Drive will be resurfaced this year, but this street does not have any concrete work to be completed with the project.

The sidewalk project will complete the final link between the Family Dollar store and the Veterans Memorial.

City officials said the project will be advertised in March and hope to open bids in April. This will allow the majority of resurfacing work to be completed during the summer while school is out and cause the least amount of interference with the busing schedule.
